IC3Y Magazine

Date
May 2025

For The Archive Issue (2025), Ic3y Mag’s first-ever print edition, Memory Land Studio developed the magazine’s complete logo system and visual identity. Designed to function across all platforms (digital and print) the system reflects Ic3y’s evolution as a space where music, design, and technology converge.

The modular logo system was conceived as a living framework: adaptable, rhythmic, and reflective of the publication’s experimental nature. It embodies the idea of an archive in motion, capturing transitions, layers of memory, and the constant dialogue between past and future forms of creativity.

The Archive Issue serves as a time capsule of creative energy between 2023 and 2025, featuring artists such as OKLOU, Boy Harsher, Pretty Girl, Honeydrip, Fvckrender, KUČKA, William Arcand, and Valentin Hansen. Across 123 pages, the print edition explores artistic growth through conversations, photography, and visual essays that trace how archives continue to shape contemporary culture.

Produced in collaboration with Baillat Studio (magazine design).
Available online and in select stores / IC3Y Magazine.

Pré-Clignancourt 93 Collectibles

Collectibles made in collaboration between William Mora, Miel Divin, and Ajile le Cercle. Signed and numbered, each one is unique.

This project is the result of a collaboration between technology and traditional craftsmanship. These pieces were developed through 3D scanning of clay objects created during the residency at Villa Belleville called Pré-Clignancourt 93. These unique, hand-modeled pieces, inspired by pre-Columbian objects and ceramics, are transformed into fictitious consumer items through 3D scanning and printing. This process raises questions about the consumption of real versus fake objects, but the project was also created for the fun of exploring modern technologies and incorporating them into my practice of cultural hybridization and conservation issues.
The name is inspired by the Clignancourt Market, a place where cultures clash, and social disparity is present.
The name is inspired by the Clignancourt Market, a place where cultures clash, and social disparity is present. This market, known for selling both unique antiques and fictitious consumer goods, was one of my sources of inspiration for this project an exploration and a way to have fun.

Collectibles are 3D printed in PLA by Miel Divin, scanned from ceramic sculptures by William Mora, with airbrushed acrylic additions by Ajile.

Made in Paris during summer 2023.

The Novum Compendium

For six months in 2023, artist William Mora developed a body of research and a series of experimental illustrations using archives from archive.org and the Internet Archive, along with a home printer and graph paper.

The resulting book compiles over 300 images drawn from catalog archives and compendiums of architectural elements. Produced between the 1850s and 1960s, these catalogs documented the material culture of domestic, public, and industrial architecture, ranging from terra cotta bricks to steel prison cells.

Mora’s fascination with these catalogs stems from the precision and detail of their illustrations. Captivated by the graphic craftsmanship behind these designs, he created 25 intricate compositions using his home printer and graph paper, the same medium historically used by draftsmen and designers to produce such technical drawings.

Designed in collaboration with Memory Land Studio, The Novum Compendium becomes both a collage of archives and a method of interpreting the vast image production of the past.

Memory Land Studio developed the visual and graphic system for PRÉMONITIONS, a two-part exhibition presented at Place Ville Marie (PVM) from April 28 to September 16, 2023.

Produced by Massivart as part of the Chromatic Festival, PRÉMONITIONS explores the relationship between contemporary art, architecture, and urban transformation. The exhibition brings together works that question collective futures, featuring installations and interventions integrated into the architectural space of PVM.

The project is part of the initiative “J’aime travailler au centre-ville,” led by the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal (CCMM) with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy, in partnership with Sid Lee Architecture, artist Nicolas Grenier, and hosted at Le Nouveau Centre by Ivanhoé Cambridge.

Curated by Roxanne Arsenault and Caroline Douville, the exhibition unfolds as both a reflection on the city’s cultural pulse and a projection toward its possible futures.

Leaving Hell, Enter Paradise marks the birth of Jonnnah, a multidisciplinary music project blending sound, performance, and visual identity. Developed in close collaboration with designer William Mora and Memory Land Studio, the visual universe of the album expands through a series of handmade masks, textile designs, posters, and cassette covers that define the project’s first physical and performative identity.

The design process translated Jonnnah’s intimate visual language into tangible form—bridging mysticism, chivalric imagery, and emotional transformation. Each mask was conceived as both a sculptural and ritualistic object, crafted as part of a costume for upcoming live performances.
Memory Land Studio contributed to the art direction, textile design, and visual development of the project, establishing a cohesive aesthetic language that connects sound, body, and material presence.

Music by Jonnnah, Tryphème, and Apple Bun
Lyrics by Tryphème and Christine Denamur
Hood manufacture by Karine Vazeille & Florence Galvao

Main Droite

Main Droite is a photography book by William Mora, composed of images taken over the past three years across the United States, Colombia, France, and Canada. The project captures fragments of everyday life—moments of quiet observation, fleeting encounters, and scenes that reveal both the ordinary and the absurd within public and private spaces.

Through this body of work, Mora observes a small spectrum of the world: the social environments, subcultures, and physical contexts he encountered while moving between places. The photographs oscillate between documentary and personal narrative, revealing subtle gestures, unusual juxtapositions, and moments of human behavior that stand out against the rhythm of daily life.
Memory Land Studio collaborated with the artist on the book design and publication process, contributing to the visual structure and material identity of the project.

The publication is available for public consultation at the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ).

Heroes

Peacemakers ML is a series of eight digital illustrations that merge robotic forms with mythological imagination. Published by Memory Land Studio, the project draws inspiration from the aesthetics of Gundam and the names of legendary warriors drawn from myths and folklore across the world.

Each composition reinterprets the visual language of mecha design through symbolic references to ancient heroism, creating a dialogue between technology, spirituality, and collective memory.
The series was released as eight digital broadsheet posters (14 x 19 in), printed in a limited edition of 10 copies.

Informations

Memory Land Studio (MLS) is a visual art research studio based in Montreal. Our research focuses simultaneously on revisiting our history and observing today's world. It is these external and internal stimuli that have guided the creation of the distinctive visual identity behind many of our individual and collective projects. As a result, the projects realized by MLS and for our collaborations act as archives; not only of our current society, but also of the cultures that forged ours.
In this way, our multi-disciplinary creative studio creates sustainable narratives, as we connect past, present and future. Our projects are articulated in several fields, with visual, graphic and sculptural communication as their goal. If you have projects that do or don't fit in with our visual and philosophical vision, we're ready to collaborate in any way we can to create your visual imprint of our era

!EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
